After fridays crit I was to give my clothing brand a name. As soon as I was told it was extremely obvious. I think this (for me) is one of the main advantages to crits- they highlight things you haven't thought about because it's so easy to become internally obsessed. Definitely need to talk to people more about my ideas- perhaps it could have been solved sooner. However, here are my results:
From this I have come to the conclusion that small type underneath the logo is the most appropriate- it is more compact, which in turn, makes is look more like a shape than an image and type together. I think it is a relevant pairing. My plans are to continue experimenting with this idea- i.e. weighting, typeface, stroke etc.
From my initial notes long ago, when we first began designing logos it is very apparent that I have not looked back. This is so important as it means I keep re-evaluating what I am designing, not only visually, but with the rules of graphic design in mind also:
