Digital Photography, further images.

Investigation into the colour orange through photography studio resources.

I experimented with changing coloured gels to see how it would effect the orange.  In most cases it is still clearly orange with a slight blue or green hue to it.  However, sometimes when increasing the brightness and using a red gel the whole image and object become red, for example:

Above is an example of my experimentation with 'mood lighting', maximising the 'macro' setting on the SLR.  The orange is heightened here because the lighting makes the colour more vivid.  The depth of field is created by the use of the macro setting- the contrast between detail and blurryness gives is a dreamlike quality.

Digital Photography induction

At the beginning of the lesson we began experimenting with the different settings on the DSLR.  Above you can see the difference within shutter speeds; aperture; light settings; ISO settings.  I felt that after this I felt I could competently use the camera.

Above I have just changed the light setting from auto to tungsten.

Again I changed the white balance to tungsten.  It creates a more orange hue, and has a more warm feel.

Next we experimented with different coloured sheets of plastic over the lighting to create totally different hues within the frame.
