Above is my final flip book design.
Above is my chosen order for the flip book in one sequence. I think it will look interesting because it is not only swaying, but moving backwards and forwards towards the viewer- visually communicating the movement of 'shake'.
I chose to expand on the messy; dotty; moving particles look. Here i have used multiple colours to give it a much more positive feel than the black and white letterform below. I think that this whole letterform has very 'happy' connotations because of the bright colours used and its hand rendered approach. Also, it is still very obvious that it is a 'Bebasneue U'.
Above are a couple of examples of my texture experimentation within the letterform. I basically wanted to get a messy look that would create a feel of movement when it was put into the context of my flipbook. I think that the letterform on the right reflects movement successfully as I have drawn inspiration from the original orange 'U' where I thought it looked like hot particles vibrating quickly.
Above I experimented with a different colour to white against the black type. I think that it works well in a way that makes it stand out against the red. However, I would like to experiment with different textures- not just block.
This is the font I have chosen to experiment further with. I found it on DaFont.com and it is called 'BEBASNEUE'. I thought that it was appropriate because it is a clear sans serif that allows me to incorporate interesting textures without the letterform becoming too ambiguous. It will still be legible as the letter 'U'. The image to the right is my experimentation with a swaying action, i made the layered letterforms more transparent as they went on so that the viewer would be able to understand what i've done.
I chose not to use Serif because of all the 'extra things', i.e brackets and ears. This means that when i manipulate the letterform it becomes more of a shape that can become more ambiguous with a change of size and angle.
Above is another of my ideas representing the word 'shake'. I think that a hologram format would look great visually, however, i have found that to actually produce it I would need a fair amount of time and money- both of which i am lacking. The site below is where I found the information that shows the difficulty involved in this process.
